Miami has a lot of really great stuff. Great beaches. Great music. Great style.
But Miami's food? Not so great. Don't get me wrong...there are plenty of nice restaurants around Miami-Dade County that boast quality food and 5-star service for a hefty price. But after you've spent hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on Ultra tickets, AirBnB deposits, flights and the other credit-draining expenses to get to South Beach, it is only natural to find ways to save a few bucks when it comes to dining out. So we here at BASSBurger have compiled this list. It's a combination of personal favorites, recommendations from locals and reviews from party animals across the web that vouch for these ten food stops that won't drain your wallet on day 1.
Authentic Cuban cuisine @ David's Cafe...

One of you silly bastards in the Ultra Facebook group asked about where to get a legit Cuban sandwich. This is your place! David's Cafe has a 24 hour menu featuring the Sandwich Cubano, a Miami staple for the easy price of $7.95. For lunch, swing by for their $8.95 lunch buffet complete with all the traditional cuban fixins'.

A big ol' pizza for a reasonable fuckin' price @ Spris...

There are too many pizza options to count when it comes to Miami. However, if you are looking for a lot of pie for a little money, Spris offers a massive Margherita pizza for $10.50 with 6 sensual slices.

Top-shelf sandwiches at bottom-shelf prices @ La Sandwicherie...

La Sandwicherie has been praised by Miami locals for it's massive portions and highest quality ingredients. If you're feeling extra weird, try the “Sweet Tooth”: a sandwich featuring banana, pineapple, mango, papaya and nutella.
Or not. Either way, everything on the menu is under $10, so you can't go wrong! Sandwicherie
229 14th Street; Miami Beach, FL
Hangover curing breakfast burritos @ Alma Mexicana...

$5.50 for a carne asada breakfast burrito. Seriously can not beat it. I was introduced to Alma Mexicana by a local during an extremely hungover walk to the beach. The combination of fresh meats, cheeses and necessary proteins really he;ps the healing process begin!

The true beauty of a Publix sub....

"I lived in Florida for 3 years and didn't discover Publix sandwiches until my final month as a temporary Floridian. It is one of the biggest regrets of my life..."
A quote from one of the BASSburger staff members sums up perfectly how amazing, yet simple, a sub from Publix can be. Affordable, bountiful and 10x more fresh than anything that those "mainstrea" sub shops will ever offer. (TIP: Buy a few and save them for those emergency hunger pains.)

Rice & Noodle Bowls your way @ Sriracha House …

Sriracha House is kind of like a Thai version of Subway, only much classier with no risk of Jared Fogle chasing your kids around the dining room with his pants down.
You start by picking your noodle or rice option, then add however many fresh toppings and sauces to create the perfectly customized meal for under $10. The drink menu offers Asian beer, Sake and specialty bubble & milk teas.
(SIDENOTE: Their vegetarian option is legit as fuck. I am a proud meat eater, but I've taken many vegetarian weirdos here with zero complaints.) Sriracha House 1502 Washington Ave; Miami Beach, FL
Juicy, delicious & corporate burgers @ Five Guys ….

Literally next door to the Sriracha House is the new American standard for decent cheeseburgers. Five Guys always offers a giant, delicious greasy burger for a reasonable price. It's a giant step up from regular fast-food and if you are in a hurry to get some protein on the go, Five Guys is the place to be.

Happy hour bliss @ Doraku Sushi ...

Doraku sushi boasts 2 separate happy hours. The lunch rendition offers $3 draft beers and food specials including premium rolls for $4 each.
Dinner gets even better with $6 and under items including tempura battered rock shrimp, California rolls, crunchy crab rolls and seared eggplant. Drink specials include $4 lychee martinis, margaritas and well-drinks + $3 sake, beer or wine. Just think of how shitfaced you can get for a mere $20!!! Doraku Sushi

Crabs N' Stuff @ Izzy's Fish & Oyster...

If you've never had Stone Crab, you haven't truly experienced Miami seafood. Unfortunately, marquee spots like Joe's Stone Crab charge an arm, leg and claw just to sample some of the best meat the sea has to offer.
Luckily, from 4pm-7pm on Monday thru Friday, Izzy's serves $3 stone crabs to offer you a taste of the ocean's muthafuckin bounty. And if you like to get lit while eating shellfish, they also have $5 Narragansett beer pitchers. (Shout-out to everybody from New England that actually knows what Narragansett is.)

Gigiantic slices at discount prices @ Groovy Pizza or Pizza Rustica...

2 of our personal favorite pizza places: Groovy's Pizza & Pizza Rustica. Both are open super late, making it perfect for that post-Ultra snack. Pizza Rustica has your basic 1-topping slices starting at $4, while Groovy's offers a lunch special of $5 for 2 slices + a soda. Not too shabby.... But one reason that Miami pizza truly stands out if the variety. The topping combinations are insane, sometimes frightening like the chicken caesar pizza that literally has a salad on top of it.
