Love him or hate him, the fact that Martin Garrix has smashed into the mainstream dance scene in such a massive way (.....before turning the age of 21) is downright impressive.
But we've always had one question...how does a minor who isn't legally allowed to drink/enter a nightclub get to perform in Vegas clubs known for their strict 21+ policies? DJMag, the curator of the debatable Top 100 list that gave Garrix the #1 position in 2017, recently released an interview snippet revealing how Martin is able to enter, perform and rock the crowds inside the same Vegas clubs he would normally not be allowed to step foot in without the celebrity DJ endorsement.
I've always imagined that if you are the #1 DJ in the company, and are basically bringing in millions of dollars to a club, you can pretty much do whatever you want. According to Garrix, not so.
Martin explains in the interview that he's not even allowed inside the club until his intro song starts playing. Once it begins, he is escorted from outside of the club's perimeter directly to the DJ booth. All VIP areas with alcohol are required to be out of reach and absolutely zero booze can be in the DJ booth while performing.
And forget about the afterparty....the minute his set ends, Garrix is escorted back out of the club and onto his next gig.
So there you have it kids....even if you become a superstar DJ before graduating high school, the rockstar life still has to wait until you're legal.
